I’m glad I took my friends here. I ordered the jerk Jamaican over rice it was delicious!! It had the perfect balance of spices, tenderness, and sweetness! Fries are my must-haves, while i'm not a crinkle cut enthusiast, these were absolutely satisfying , prefectly crisp, soft, and flavorful. My order also came with cornbread! Of course we got dessert. I really wanted to try the caramel cake but it was sold out. However, they had my favorite — red velvet!! The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. My go to recommendation for soul food!!

I almost was not going to try this place because the pictures on here did not look appetizing. But I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. The food is delicious! (Chicken & waffles/ baked beans/ corn bread) Just needs some organizing inside the restaurant (two corners). The flower vases look tacky. Going back again to try different items:)

I went on 8/6/2023 around 2:50 pm. I had called in and ordered for pick up. I was residing further from the restaurant than I thought so I was later than the 10-15 minutes it took to make the plates. Upon arrival, the man at the front counter alerted me that he was going to remake the food since it was sitting and he didn’t want to give that to me which was awesome as he could have just given me cold food if he wanted. Last minute, I asked for a soda and he gave me one for free! So customer service was great. As for the food, I got two plates of catfish, 1 had chicken, both had mac & cheese, and 1 had yams. I also got a german chocolate cake & red velvet cake. I gotta say this food was SO GOOD. Not even kind of salty, but packed with the right amount of flavor. You’ll still have energy after eating it, at least we did. The chicken and fish were crispy, the yams flavorful & sweet (but not too much & they could stand to be a little less over-cooked), and the mac was beyond creamy!! The german chocolate cake was good to me, but the reviewer of the red velvet didn't like that one. All in all, I know I will be returning on my next visit to Fresno.

Had my first visit here yesterday and I was NOT disappointed. We (a relative of mine and myself) were greeted as we walked in, offered seating right away, service was very fast, and the food = DELICIOUS. We had an opportunity to have a friendly, professional conversation with one of the owners. GREAT Man ! Thank you. Can't wait to try the weekend menu.

I came in today 05/06/23 at around 3pm with my boyfriend. Off the back the vibe wasn’t very welcoming. No greeting as we entered the restaurant, just stares. We stood at the front counter for a while before a man said something. However that made my boyfriend not want to order but I didn’t waste gas for anything so I decided to order. I got a fish/shrimp combo plate and a pork chop on the side. I was told the wait was going to be 10 mins, which was no problem. The food came out hot just wasn’t crispy enough in my opinion. 2-3 mins extra in the fryer would have been great. The pork chop can use a little more salt. The fish portions were disappointing. I paid $27.03 for this food and it definitely wasn’t worth it.

First time here today and honestly it was so wholesome and as I was listening to Missy Elliot I was grooving and munching on some spicy fried chicken. Let’s just say this place knows how to season their food! Just go. If you were like me you’ll be transported back in time and feel like you are eating at your friends house. Ive lived in the south and this made my heart so happy. Oh and end it with the delicious peach cobbler! This was also my birthday lunch and definitely worth it!

Went there since they had great reviews only to be disappointed. Mac and cheese was bland. Cornbread was burnt and dry. Potatoes salad was sweet for some reason tasted like sugar and mustard basically. Peach cobbler was okay 2/5. Lemon pound cake was also okay rate it a 2/5 Fried shrimp was actually seasoned well and tasty. Fried chicken was hot and seasoned. But after trying it I definitely won't be going back. Just wasn't worth the hype..if you know how soul food is suppose to really taste this place ain't it
